India, as a signatory to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, is dedicated to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that fosters inclusive, equitable, and sustainable growth. In alignment to this global effort, the State Government of Mizoram has adopted these SDGs into its Vision Plan to steer the state's development strategy.
At the national level, NITI Aayog plays a crucial role in mapping these goals and identifying key ministries and government departments responsible for their implementation. In Mizoram, the Planning & Programme Implementation Department serves as the nodal agency for SDG execution, ensuring that the state’s development priorities are in alignment with the global goals.
To streamline this process, the department has established the SDG Coordination Cell (SDGCC), which coordinates across various sectors and monitors the state's progress toward achieving the SDGs. The SDGCC ensures that Mizoram's approach to sustainable development reflects its unique socio-economic, environmental, and health profile, balancing both the state's immediate needs and long-term aspirations.
The Mizoram SDG Dashboard is a platform designed to track and share the state’s progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By gathering and presenting crucial data, it aids government officials, organizations, and the public in making informed decisions. The aim is to support Mizoram’s path towards a healthier, more prosperous, and sustainable future for all its people.
